THE BEST WAY TO IMPROVE YOUR SELF CONFIDENCE

It seems absurd when you think about it but the fact is we are our own worst enemies when it comes to achieving happiness in our lives. We tend to beat ourselves up over minor defeats and convince ourselves that we cannot do something before we even try. A persistent pattern of this behavior means we are suffering from low self esteem and we need to do something about it.
There are many ways to increase your confidence fast. Most of them are self help exercises you can do right now and see results from almost immediately. Just remember that being confident is something only you can do for yourself; no one can do it for you. And when you succeed, you not only feel good about yourself, you know how to be happy with your life.

The first step in how to beat low self confidence

Is to tell yourself that you are confident. Tell yourself that you are smart, energetic, full of good ideas, and worthy of other peoples’ attention. Fight off negative thoughts like "I can’t" or "I don’t know how." with positive thoughts like "I’ve never done that but I know I can." or "Let’s take the first step right now!" Talk to yourself only in positive, never negative, terms.

Learn the ins and outs of body language.

Poor posture, a shuffling walk, and looking down instead of up are all signs of an ego in need of help. Walk tall, with your head held high and eyes straight ahead. When speaking to someone, look them in the eye. (If you find this difficult, look at the bridge of their nose; they’ll never suspect a thing.) Sit upright in your chair (never slouch) and, when standing, avoid folding your arms over your chest. (It looks defensive.)
Never, ever berate yourself for minor mistakes. Most of them are either inconsequential or things you will overcome with practice and experience. Look at them as learning opportunities. And don’t be afraid to take some risks. After all, what is confidence but the belief that you can conquer fear and accomplish things you might never have accomplished before? If you don’t take a chance, you’ll miss an opportunity.
One thing that many people overlook when learning how to improve self esteem is the need to know how to accept a compliment. It is okay (in fact it’s essential) to feel good about yourself and that includes feeling good about how other people react to you. When someone compliments you, accept it gracefully. Say thank you and compliment yourself on achieving another step towards complete self confidence.
Low self esteem comes from many roots. Perhaps you developed it as a child at home, in school, or as a result of an event beyond your control. No matter why or how you became its victim, it can be conquered. With a little push in the right direction and steady practice, you’ll feel good about yourself, and feel good about feeling that way, in no time. That’s a feeling you can make last for the rest of your life.
